Vision
Our vision
RFC envisions communities and institutions better equipped to understand risks, strengthen livelihoods and make inclusive, sustainable and evidence-informed decisions.
Vision statement
A future in which communities, institutions and economies are better equipped to understand change, manage risks and pursue inclusive, resilient and sustainable development.
What this vision means
Resilient futures depend on several conditions working together
Resilient futures depend on people having meaningful opportunities, institutions responding effectively, and decisions being informed by reliable evidence. This includes:
Sustaining livelihoods
The ability of households and enterprises to sustain livelihoods.
Responding to pressures
The capacity of communities to respond to environmental and economic pressures.
Learning from implementation
The ability of policies and programmes to learn from implementation.
No organization can achieve this alone
RFC recognizes that these outcomes cannot be achieved by one organization alone. They require sustained efforts by communities, public institutions, researchers, civil society, businesses and development partners.
RFC’s intended contribution is to support that wider work through careful research, clear analysis and practical knowledge exchange.
